Small Towns Burn A Little Slower is a new collection by Bluetan, a Brooklyn-based art collective. The four members work in an array of mediums exploring the human condition through photography, paintings, installation and mixed media works. Bluetan consists of four artists with four different styles and sets of experiences yet the work flows together with familiar transcendental qualities.

Coming out of a busy year of gallery shows, museum events, art festivals and group and solo exhibitions in Miami, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Connecticut, California, North Carolina and South Carolina; bluetan is thrilled to team up with Push Skateshop and gallery, since the artists established their creative roots while growing up skateboarding in North and South Carolina.

This Sunday night, in Philadelphia, veteran skateboard lensman Geoff Graham will be unveiling his new documentary about the Philly band Flying Sutra, entitled ‘Flying Sutra For Beginners’.

This Saturday, the Santa Clarita Skatepark will be the venue for a special benefit for Mike Franklin. The donation to enter the time trials at the M.F. Nationals is $20 and they’ll be a huge raffle as well as a silent auction. Get there early, stay late and RAISE IT!

The 7th annual Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama will be held Sunday May 9, 2010. The main event takes place at SKATELAB indoor skatepark in Simi Valley, CA, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

The Vengeance team will be making the trip down to Pawn Shop HQ Skatepark in Charleston, WV, on Saturday April 24. The demo starts at 2pm, so be sure to come out early and chill with the Vengeance guys, who will be hanging out all day.

Bodega is holding a mini ramp contest on May 2, to benefit the ASPCA. So far they have raised about $250, with a goal of $500. There’s tons of prizes and $250 in cash giveaways as of right now, with more to come.
