Marcelo Bastos (BRA) turned it on to edge out Adam Taylor (USA) and Sandro Dias (BRA) in today’s final that was televised to over 20+ million people in Brazil.

Schooled is the largest East Coast amateur competition series for elementary, middle, and high school boys and girls, consisting of street, mini ramp, and bowl skating.

This weekend, San Francisco’s Cruz Skateshop will be celebrating it’s 2nd Anniversary in style. Saturday’s events kick off with at contest a 3rd & Army at noon.

Girls Riders Organization will be at Skatepark of Tampa for the entire 2010 Tampa Pro. Come hang out with the ladies at the GRO Booth, see what’s been happening since we last met and learn how you can get involved! It will be a weekend full of fun.

Sunday, the ladies skate. GRO will be holding a Girls Game Of SKATE in the SPoT back warehouse. Registration starts at 10am and the contest goes down at 11am Sharp! It is $10 to skate the game and there will be prizes for the winner. Noelle Stolp is our current champion, winning the game at Tampa Am in December.

Sunday is also the finals for Tampa Am, so the tickets will sell out!!!! Get you tickets today! You will also need a waiver on file to skate the event. So if you are under 18 and do not already have an up to date waiver at SPoT, make sure you have a legal guardian bring you.

After the contest settles, we will be offering beginner one on one lessons for new ladies that want to learn to ride. All equipment provided. All that, games and more. See you at Tampa Pro!

Best trick. Worst trick. Longest boardslide. Prizes! Mayhem! Saturday, March 13th, 2010. Hijinks start at 1pm. $15 entry fee covers all day skating at Garden Skate , New Jersey’s largest indoor skate park, and chances to win FREE stuff from Funhouse Skateboards, Thrasher Magazine, Independent Trucks, Bones Wheels, Triple 8, and Monster Energy.

On March 27, 2010 there will be a Joe Dirt memorial contest at Underwood Skatepark. Come on out and show some love for Joe Dirt.

The Park in Melbourne, Florida, is starting their “March To May Madness”, six week contest series, on March 31, which will consist of a flat ground game of S.K.A.T.E. every week, until May 5. With an entry fee of only $5, you might as well test your luck.

Woodward West is hosting a street, vert, and mini ramp contest starting this April 30th.

The 4th annual Vans Bowl-A-Rama battle wrapped on Sunday at OZ’s world renowned Bondi Bowl 2010.

This nationwide art and design contest is for high school art classes. Students will utilize Vans sneakers as the canvas for their creative talents. The contest culminates with an expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles in May, to take part in the final art showcase.

The hope is this program will create awareness for the importance of high school programs in an age of shrinking budgets for the arts, while at the same time, inspiring young artists and designers.
