Jonathan HatcherThe 2009 Georgia Bowl Riders Championship will be the premier skateboard event in the south this October for amateur and professional skateboarders. The three-day festival takes place October 16 – 18, 2009 in Columbus and Atlanta Georgia. This year’s event will not only feature the Bowl Riders Championship but will include numerous contests for street skaters (Columbus Only). We plan to offer significant cash prizes for the Georgia Bowl Riders Championship.
Friday, October 16th will be highlighted by a full day Fan Festival that will showcase events and vendors that will build excitement for not just the event but skateboarding in general. This will provide an opportunity for vendors to showcase their products and services to this diverse group. The theme for the Fan Fair will be environmental consciousness and we will offer attractions that show the commitment of skateboarding to improving the environment. It will also provide progressive eco-education with the objective of empowering people to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Contest volunteers will be participating in the Help The Hooch river cleanup project in Columbus. As an added attraction we will be hosting a car show and live bands in Columbus
Both the Jonathan Hatcher Skatepark in Columbus and Brook Run Skatepark in Atlanta are modern skateparks created by California Skateparks. The Georgia Bowl Riders Championship will take place in the pool at both locations. Each park is conveniently located and easily accessible.
